SARS will be 48 years old next week. Since 1972 our volunteer clinicians have helped treat thousands of patients and saved countless lives. Our independent charity supports the NHS by offering a service to the people of Suffolk at no cost to the patient or the tax-payer. This is made possible through the voluntary commitment of our responders who offer their time and skills without charge. We receive no central government funding and rely on voluntary donations and fundraising to maintain our activity. The coronavirus outbreak has meant that we need to seek alternative methods of fundraising to traditional events and we need your help to achieve this. To celebrate our anniversary we are asking people to get involved in our virtual race around Suffolk and help us raise vital funds to support our work. It’s starts on our anniversary – May 1st 2020 and finishes on 21st June 2020 – Suffolk Day!
The key items we are fundraising for are a portable ventilator for our team car, monitoring units for SARS solo responders and the costs of converting our vehicles for emergency response. All these items will make a significant difference over a long period of time. This is not just about now, it’s also about the future. Please help us save lives by supporting this event. Thank you!
